The 16th edition of the International Short Film Festival of Souss will take place from May 21 to 25 in Aït Melloul.
Organized by “Atelier Commedia for Cinematic Creativity”, this event will feature the participation of 30 short films representing Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Senegal, Pakistan, Iran, France, Canada, the United States, India, and Algeria, according to a statement from the organizers.
Composed of experts from the film industry, the screening and selection committees, divided into “Narrative Short Film Committee”, “Documentary Short Film Committee” and “Young Talent Short Film Committee” have viewed more than 250 films representing nearly 30 countries.
The 30 selected films have been chosen according to industry standards and criteria, the same source notes.
The chosen films will participate in three categories: “Narrative Short Film”, “Documentary Short Film”, and “Narrative and Documentary Short Film” (Aït Melloul) and compete for various festival awards.
This event is organized in partnership with the municipality of Aït Melloul and the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Human Sciences Ibn Zohr-Aït Melloul, with the support of the Moroccan Cinematographic Center.
