The African Women Writers League recently called for the strengthening of African cultural sharing from a feminine perspective, as well as the use of cultural factors in the development of the continent.

Female creative communication represents an essential element in the dynamics of South-South cooperation, the League highlighted in a statement on the occasion of the first celebration of African Women Writers Day (March 9).

Presided over by Moroccan writer Badia Radi, the League called for effective investment in the cultural sphere, which is diversifying in Africa, with the aim of strengthening South-South cooperation relations and consolidating geographical, historical, and civilizational ties. The cultural question and the investment in material and immaterial works are decisive factors in successful transformations in countries, the same source stated, emphasizing the role of culture as a fundamental factor in establishing development plans in African countries.

The African Women Writers League also expressed its ambition to become a qualitative cultural platform to ensure fruitful and serious cultural exchanges, capable of harnessing the creative capacities of women in African countries in a participatory, cooperative, and supportive manner. Established in March 2023, the African Women Writers League aims to showcase the exceptional literary heritage of Africa, reflecting a continent proud of its culture and looking to the future with confidence.
