The National Mohammed VI Center for the Disabled will organize the 15th National Disability Forum from April 16 to 19 in Sala El Jadida, under the theme “Handisport, lever for inclusive development: from therapy to performance”. Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and organized on the occasion of National Disability Day, this forum will feature a scientific day and thematic workshops on the forum’s theme, according to a statement from the National Mohammed VI Center for the Disabled. According to the same source, many national and international experts will lead the different sessions of this forum, which will be held in collaboration with Special Olympics Morocco (SOM) and the Royal Moroccan Federation for Disabled Sports. The inaugural session of the forum will also pay tribute to disabled sports champions who have achieved performances at the international level in various disabled sports disciplines in 2023.
Around 300 professionals in the field of disabled sports and para-sports, representing government sectors, disabled sports federations, Special Olympics, national and international non-governmental organizations, associations for people with disabilities, families, researchers, and specialists will participate in person. Additionally, about a thousand national participants and actors will join remotely through the National Mohammed VI Center for the Disabled’s Facebook page. The Forum will also feature various cultural, artistic, sports, and recreational activities for the benefit of people with disabilities, their families, and all stakeholders involved, to ensure and safeguard their well-being, concludes the statement.
