This center will be located in Casablanca and will be built on a 12-hectare plot of land with a built area of approximately 16,000 square meters and a capacity of 160 beds.
Infrastructure:
Football infrastructure in Morocco continues to strengthen. Several projects are underway, including those related to training in this sport. The latest project is the construction of a center in Casablanca. Details are as follows.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) plans to build a Federal Football Training Center. This new center will be located in Casablanca and will be built on a 12-hectare plot of land. The built area of the project is approximately 16,000 square meters, with a capacity of 160 beds. As explained by the federation, this project is part of the Football Development Program in Morocco, especially in terms of infrastructure and governance. To achieve this, they have launched an architectural competition for the implementation of this project, with a budget of 160 million dirhams. The establishment of this training center aligns with the goal of strengthening infrastructure in the field of sports. It aims to promote football practice in cities, villages, and disadvantaged neighborhoods, improve conditions for professional football practice, and develop high-level training infrastructure. This project will be located in the municipality of Lahraouiyine in the province of Médiouna in the Casablanca-Settat region.
In terms of spaces, the project includes the development of several sports fields taking into account the proximity between the play areas, the residential area, and the medical-sports area as well as the proximity between the different proposed fields. The planned facilities include two natural grass football fields, one synthetic grass football field, one hybrid grass football field, a goalkeeper warm-up field, two multi-sports fields, a beach soccer field, a covered multi-sports hall, and a semi-Olympic indoor pool. Regarding the residential area, it is mainly dedicated to accommodation and will be up to R+2 in height. This structure will be organized into four separate pavilions (2 for boys/2 for girls).
The project is expected to include the establishment of several football fields. The standard playing area dimensions are 68 x 105 m with an additional natural, hybrid, or synthetic grass strip 3 m wide along the touchline and 5 m behind the goals. The total grassed area is specified as 74*112 m. The football fields will be adjacent with a 3m separation. The natural grass football field will have 8 rows of stands 60 m long, built in concrete and equipped with individual seats, fixed to the structure, comfortable, with backrests at least 30 cm high. Additionally, a 32*40m training field dedicated to goalkeepers will be provided with natural grass. The multi-sports field that will be installed is suitable for collective sports such as handball, volleyball, hockey, or basketball.
As for the beach soccer field, its dimensions are 26*35 m. This sport is played by 5 players on a sand field. The semi-Olympic indoor pool is covered and will be used for swimming competitions and training, located in an independent building. It includes an 8-lane swimming pool, stands with a capacity of 550 seats, and VIP areas. The covered multi-sports hall is intended for hosting sports competitions and training. This facility will house a 20mx40m playing area with a free surface between buildings of 32m x 52m, stands with a capacity of 1,000 seats, an administration area, conference rooms, locker rooms, showers, toilets, and other premises, facilities for the public, VIP areas, and media areas.
Medical-Sports Area:
The medical-sports area is mainly dedicated to medical-sports activities. It will be housed in a building not exceeding R+1 in height. The operation program includes a physical exercise and weight training room designed for pleasant use with a weight training zone and a cardio area equipped with treadmills, elliptical bikes, and rowing machines. Natural lighting, combined with adequate artificial lighting, will create a bright and warm atmosphere that encourages exercise. Additionally, a functional rehabilitation area is planned.
This facility will bring together all care related to rehabilitation and functional explorations, as well as therapeutic care for members. It includes a reception and consultation area consisting of a reception desk, waiting area, and patient toilets, two consultation/evaluation rooms including one equipped with ultrasound. This zone includes locker rooms and showers located between the reception area and the rest of the care facilities, a physiotherapy area (the exercise room allows for the treatment of multiple patients by a single physiotherapist. The rehabilitation boxes are used for individualized care). The project will also include a sauna jacuzzi area dedicated to relaxation activities for students.
Educational Training Platform:
Equipment. The new center to be built in Médiouna will constitute a complete platform for training and pedagogy. According to the federation, this platform will gather the necessary equipment to ensure the training of members, including theoretical teaching rooms (8 classrooms), practical teaching rooms (1 laboratory), and a computer room.
As for the educational sector, an independent building up to R+2 in height will be provided and complemented by a workspace, a teachers/supervisors’ room, as well as a meeting room for welcoming visitors and parents.
