The elements of the investigative and intervention service belonging to the National Judicial Police Brigade arrested a 34-year-old French national on Friday evening, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French authorities for involvement in criminal networks operating in international drug trafficking. The suspect was apprehended in Casablanca as part of a well-coordinated security operation, aiming to locate all the places where the accused could seek refuge in several Moroccan cities, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to initial reports, the French citizen was sought internationally under a red notice issued by Interpol, at the request of the French judicial authorities, who suspect him of leading numerous criminal networks involved in international drug trafficking and money laundering. The suspect was placed in custody before being presented on Saturday morning to the competent prosecutor in Casablanca, as part of the extradition procedure, the same source added. This arrest highlights the security cooperation and exchange of information between the DGSN and the French National Police in accordance with international cooperation mechanisms in the security field.
