After revisiting the history of the Kingdom in various ways, researcher and historian Nabil Mouline and content creator and director Mustapha El Fekkak, also known as Swinga, are teaming up again. They have just launched “Basmat Al-Tourath,” the very first animated series dedicated to Morocco’s material and immaterial heritage. “As a result of research, collection, and presentation work, this web series is based on the proven knowledge and information corroborated by the historian researcher, as well as on the creativity of the content producer and his mastery of visualization and new digital formats,” explain the initiators.

This 100% digital project with high added value is conducted with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. Accessible and illustrated, each capsule offers Internet users the opportunity to understand the different facets of our common material and immaterial heritage in order to better reclaim it. Thus, the first season consists of 5 episodes lasting 10 to 20 minutes each. They will respectively highlight: Moroccan couscous, a dish of unity and tradition, Sayyida al-Hurra, the warrior queen of the North, Atay (Moroccan tea), a symbol of Moroccan hospitality, the iconic Tinmel Mosque, cradle of the Almohad Empire in the heart of the High Atlas, Sabâatou Rijal, the Seven Saints, patrons of Marrakech. The series is being broadcast on Mustapha Swinga’s YouTube channel.
