An autopsy conducted on the remains of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was popularly known as Mohbad, is expected to be ready in the next three to four weeks. The announcement was made by Dr. Richard Somiari, the Director of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, during his testimony at a coroner’s inquest into the death of the singer.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the young age of 27, sparking controversy and speculation surrounding the circumstances of his death. This led the Lagos State Government to order a coroner’s inquest to investigate and shed light on the situation. The inquest commenced on October 13, 2023, at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.

During the proceedings, Dr. Somiari informed Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi that the initial autopsy results are expected to be available in three to four weeks. He emphasized the importance of confirming the cause of Mohbad’s death and mentioned that the examination considered various possibilities, including the presence of poison. Since the exact cause of death was not immediately apparent, a thorough investigation was necessary to uncover the truth.

The forensic expert also reassured the public regarding the security and monitoring of the samples collected for the autopsy. He explained that there are strict protocols in place to safeguard the integrity of the results and ensure the accuracy of the findings. Samples are carefully stored and monitored for any movements, especially if they need to be sent abroad for further analysis.

The ongoing coroner’s inquest aims to provide answers and closure to the fans, family, and followers of Mohbad who have been deeply affected by his untimely passing. By conducting a thorough investigation and relying on expert testimonies like Dr. Somiari’s, the hope is to uncover the truth behind the tragic death of the talented young musician.

As the wait for the autopsy results continues, the public is encouraged to remain patient and trust in the process. The information gathered through the inquest will play a crucial role in understanding what led to Mohbad’s demise and ensuring that justice is served. Overall, the commitment to transparency and thorough investigation demonstrated in the coroner’s inquest is a step towards seeking the truth and providing closure to those mourning the loss of a beloved artist.
