Minister Bazié to Burkinabes in Cameroon: “Everything is being done so that by the end of the year, we can recover the entire territory”
Ouagadougou, March 9, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – The Minister of State in charge of Public Service, Bassolma Bazié, on a working visit to Cameroon, reassured his compatriots living in this country that efforts are being made to restore security throughout the Burkinabe territory by the end of 2024.
Present in Yaoundé in his capacity as the current President of the Board of Directors of the African Regional Centre for Labour Administration (CRADAT), Minister Bazié met with his compatriots, reassuring them that “everything is being done so that by the end of the year, we can recover the entire national territory,” according to the communication service of the Ministry in charge of Public Service.
The choice of cooperative partners, the reinforcement of fighter units, the strategic reorganization of combat forces, the strengthening of territorial coverage, the acquisition of new combat equipment and materials, and the high involvement of the population in the fight, all lead the minister to believe that efforts are being made for a noticeable return of security and peace by the end of the year.
The Burkinabe diaspora living in Cameroon consists of international civil servants working in UN agencies, international NGOs, regional organizations, etc.; informal sector workers (traders, artisans, gold miners, drivers, and various activities such as security guards, motorcycle taxi drivers). It also includes priests, religious sisters, students and interns, as well as Cameroonian wives of Burkinabe origin.
“We constantly pray for the swift return of peace in areas with high security deficits and the return of all internally displaced persons to their localities,” reacted the President of the Burkinabe Association in Yaoundé, Prof. Hamidou Koné.
