Award-winning Ghanaian Afrobeats artist and rapper, Gambo, is making waves in the international music scene, as he continues to expand his career and build valuable connections with top figures in the American music industry. Recently, Gambo had a fruitful networking session with US rap icon, actor, and entrepreneur, Snoop Dogg, in Los Angeles, California.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the African pre-Grammy Awards Global Affairs event, an event originated by the CEO of All We Do Is Work, Mr. Terry Williams, and presented by Godfather Entertainment with CEO Michael Harris, the co-founder of Death Row Records. During this meeting, Gambo briefed Snoop Dogg about his upcoming musical album that he is currently recording in the United States. He has been in the US for weeks, busy working on his first full studio album following the successful release of his ‘New Era’ Extended Play (EP) which featured hit songs such as ‘Drip’, ‘Beautiful’, and ‘Settle’.

Snoop Dogg was impressed by Gambo’s hard work and encouraged the singer to keep pushing and going beyond limits. The founder of Doggy Style Records and Owner of Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg, even hinted that he will be visiting Ghana soon. Gambo, who is committed to marketing the positive side of Ghana internationally to promote tourism and diaspora investment, seized the opportunity to teach Snoop Dogg Twi, the Akan language, so he can easily communicate with Ghanaians in their local dialect when he visits Ghana. This brief teaching session was a fun experience for Snoop Dogg as he learned a few Twi words including “Akwaaba” (welcome).

Aside from his high-profile meetings in the US, Gambo has been collaborating with fellow African musicians. At the end of 2023, he featured Nigeria’s Goya Menor on his street anthem, ‘Cut Soap’, and went on to feature another Nigerian artist, Lade, on his highly inspirational single, ‘Nobody’, which has enjoyed massive airplay and featured prominently in the digital and print media in Nigeria and Ghana.

As a musician and young entrepreneur, Gambo strongly believes in the power of networking to create business opportunities and career development. His efforts to build international connections and produce music that resonates with audiences both in Ghana and around the world are shaping him into a global icon. Keep an eye out for Gambo as he continues to make headlines in the international music scene.
