A strong swell warning is in effect in Mauritius, valid until Monday, March 25 at 10:00 p.m. Furthermore, a frontal system followed by a strong anticyclone is approaching our region from the southwest. Clouds associated with the frontal system will influence the local weather.

Cloudy this morning with intermittent rains. The rains will be locally moderate at times. There will be cloudy periods in the afternoon with showers mainly on the highlands and windward slopes.

The maximum temperature will be between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius on the central plateau and between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius on the coast.

Fog patches will also be present in certain regions.

The minimum temperature will be between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius in the highlands and between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in coastal regions.

Southeast wind at around 30 km/h with gusts of 60 km/h, further strengthening with gusts reaching 70 km/h in exposed areas.

Very rough sea beyond the reefs with waves around 4 meters. These strong swells can break in the coastal areas at low altitudes of the southwest, south, and southeast from the beginning of this afternoon during high tides.

Therefore, it is strongly advised for fishermen, boaters, and the public to avoid going out to sea and even along the beaches during high tides.
