The crescent moon was spotted on Monday, March 11th. Therefore, the first day of Ramadan 2024 will be on Tuesday, March 12th. Muslims will observe fasting from dawn to sunset for 29 or 30 days.

The first Taraweeh, the nightly prayers performed after the Isha prayer during the fasting month of Ramadan, will begin today.

As is tradition for each Ramadan, an annual event cherished by the Muslim community, mosques are the preferred places of worship for prayers. Homes are carefully cleaned and prepared to welcome this month dedicated to prayers and sacrifices, following the recommendations of the Holy Quran.
