“We have done beyond what we promised,” said Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on Tuesday, April 9 during the Ugadi festival celebrations organized by the Mauritius Telegu Maha Sabha Federation in Phoenix.
Commenting on the recent increase in pensions for the elderly, Pravind Jugnauth expressed pride in fulfilling the commitment he made to the population in 2019, stating that he had gone further by granting pensions of Rs 14,500 and Rs 16,000 to the elderly. The Prime Minister also stated that “we still have a lot to do.”
Pravind Jugnauth also encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from the efforts and work of the elderly in the areas of social work and volunteering.
