At the initiative of the Ministry of Health, a Health Track has been set up in Souillac. This project, costing Rs 15 million, was jointly funded by the Environment and Climate Change Fund and the Employees Welfare Fund. Residents will be able to engage in sports and enjoy the outdoors in a specially designed space.

The goal of this health track inaugurated this week in Souillac is to promote safe and neighborhood-based sports. The Minister of Health, Kailesh Jagutpal, who inaugurated this space, emphasized the government’s policy of encouraging the population to engage in sports for good health.

The Minister mentioned that this location previously housed a dental clinic for several years. “With time, after the construction of the Souillac hospital, the service was transferred. The space had been abandoned for some time. The Ministry of Health approached the Ministry of Environment and the EWF for a health track for the residents of the locality.” He also mentioned that the location is in a residential area and accessible to all.

Kailesh Jagutpal called on the residents of Souillac to use this space wisely. “I urge you to use this space well and keep it clean. Especially since the Environment has invested in such a project. We should not have plastic bottles or cans thrown on the ground. It should be preserved like a little jewel.”

The Minister of Environment, Kavy Ramano, who was also present at the inauguration, expressed his happiness with this collaboration. “The Ministry of Environment is pleased to be associated with this project which was jointly funded by the Environment and Climate Change Fund and the Employees Welfare Fund.”

Kavy Ramano stated that this health track is part of improving the quality of life. He also mentioned that the Ministry of Environment is embarking on a series of projects in the constituency No 13 (Rivière-des-Anguilles/Souillac).

Ismaël Rawoo, Parliamentary Private Secretary of the constituency, highlighted that this project aligns with the government’s policy of keeping the population healthy. “It is also a meeting place. It should be enjoyed while preserving the environment. We have kept all the fruit trees that were on this land. We invite the residents of the locality to fully enjoy it.”

As for Atish Boyjonauth, President of the Employees Welfare Fund, he mentioned that one of the goals of the EWF is to ensure the well-being of families. “When the Ministry of Health approached us for this project, we agreed without hesitation. I urge the residents of Souillac to take advantage of this health track and take care of it.”
