The government began yesterday morning the commemoration of the 94th anniversary of the late Sir Anerood Jugnauth through a wreath-laying ceremony at the samadhi of the former Prime Minister and founder of the MSM at the SSR Botanical Garden. These tributes take place under the patronage of the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage, which has planned a series of activities.
Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, his wife Kobita, Lady Jugnauth, and close relatives were at the site early yesterday morning for a prayer session, before being joined by other leaders of the government team, including Deputy Prime Minister Steven Obeegadoo, Alan Ganoo, and Ivan Collendavelloo. This was followed by the opening of an exhibition of photos of the former Prime Minister.
Other ministers and deputies took turns visiting the Pamplemousses Garden with Die-Hard MSM supporters from various constituencies to pay tribute to the iconic leader of the MSM.
