After resigning from all positions within the PMSD, Kushal Lobin, Véronique Leu-Govind, and Richard Duval are considering bringing together some dissidents from the PMSD under a new platform and have announced their alliance with the PTr/MMM.
Yesterday afternoon, the name “Nouveaux Démocrates” was mentioned in relation to this new platform. The three resigning members of the PMSD met yesterday evening with Paul Bérenger and Navin Ramgoolam for discussions.
It is worth noting that on Sunday, April 14, after the announcement of the rupture of the alliance between PTr/MMM/PMSD, Véronique Leu-Govind, the then-president of the PMSD, left the party, describing it as “unacceptable” that “negotiations with other political parties, such as the MSM, were taking place in secret without the knowledge of the executive members.”
Richard Duval and Khushal Lobine followed suit on Tuesday by submitting their resignation letters. Khushal Lobine cited “poor management of the political situation within the PMSD,” while Richard Duval expressed surprise that his party was engaging in ticket negotiations with individuals who were not authorized by the party.
