New Democrats, a political party launched on Thursday, April 18th and in alliance since yesterday with the PTr/MMM, will align itself with the guiding principles of the late Sir Gaëtan Duval, said Richard Duval, son of the former leader of the PMSD.

Several reasons motivated his departure from the PMSD, “the party of his father, the party where he grew up,” stated Richard Duval, who ensures that New Democrats will be a movement with the sole mission of liberating the country from an autocratic government.

The former blue party deputy mentioned the re-registration of SIM cards, the high cost of living, the IBA Act, whose laws will need to be amended, and the situation in parliament.

Richard Duval assured that the most vulnerable members of society can rely on New Democrats, a “grassroots party” that “believes in real change.”

The former president and resigning member of the PMSD, Véronique Leu-Govind, expressed sadness at her forced departure from the party for which she fought for years.

“It was not easy to leave the PMSD,” she declared, adding that “the party has become autocratic.”

Taking the floor, Kushal Lobine explained that New Democrats will be an “extremely democratic” party, with a constitution to be drafted in the coming days.
