“Since a month there have been negotiations between MSM and PMSD,” declared the leader of the PTR, Navin Ramgoolam, who wanted to deny all rumors surrounding the rift with the PMSD.

The members of the PTr/MMM alliance met this afternoon to organize activities for May 1st.

Criticism towards Xavier-Luc Duval, Navin Ramgoolam explained that due to the actions of certain people within the PMSD over the past month, “we have lost confidence in the party.”

Navin Ramgoolam stated that he confronted Xavier-Luc Duval with the fact that he had met with high-ranking members of the MSM, specifying the location and date, which the leader of the PMSD did not deny.

Furthermore, Navin Ramgoolam claimed to have received information regarding negotiations between the MSM and the PMSD. With the PTr/MMM, “the PMSD wanted to obtain ten tickets for the upcoming legislative elections, including one for No. 3 (Port-Louis-East/Port-Louis-Maritime).” A request that the alliance refused. Other more tempting proposals were allegedly made to them by the MSM.

Navin Ramgoolam maintained that the leader of the blues had a different agenda, “while our alliance puts the country’s interest first.”

He affirmed that the work for the May 1st event has been accelerated. Committees have also been set up to discuss the electoral program.

On the other hand, Paul Bérenger and Navin Ramgoolam are meeting tonight with Khushal Lobine, Richard Duval, and Veronique Leu-Govind, the resigning members of the PMSD, in light of the upcoming legislative elections.
