Rehearsals for the official ceremony for the national holidays of March 12, the 56th anniversary of independence and the 32nd of the republic, are in full swing for this return to the Champ-de-Mars. The indications are that the flag-raising ceremony could take place at 2 pm on March 12 in the presence of the Chief Guest, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and the Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth.

On Monday, the President of India will be welcomed at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport with the honors due to her rank. The program will include a courtesy visit to President Roopun, a meeting with Pravind Jugnauth, a State Banquet, as well as a Civic Reception at the Indian High Commission.

The honor of raising the flag at the Champ-de-Mars for the official ceremony will be given to WPC Bhundoo and Private Meunier of the Special Mobile Force.
