The Cabinet noted that Droupadi Murmu, President of India, will be the Chief Guest for the National Day celebrations on March 12, 2024. She will undertake a State visit to Mauritius from March 11 to 13.
During the visit, the President of India will, among other things, pay a courtesy visit to President Roopun, have a tête-à-tête with Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, and attend the flag-raising ceremony at Champ-de-Mars.
On the other hand, the activities organized for the celebrations on March 12, 2024, will focus on the theme “Ansam Nou Avanse”. The program for the official ceremony will include, among other things, a parade of police helicopters, Dornier aircraft, a parade of disciplined forces, uniformed organizations, a parade of vehicles and tanks, a performance by the majors and majorettes of the Queen Elizabeth College, culminating in a cultural program featuring Mauritian artists followed by a popular show.
