The leader of Linion Moris, Nando Bodha, believes that the country is heading towards an inevitable political change and feels that Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth’s electoral calendar is disrupted.
“Pravind Jugnauth is bringing his party into disrepute,” said the former MSM minister, who held a press conference yesterday. He laments that the leader of the MSM does not feel the need to come and explain to the population why he dismissed the former Minister of Agro-industry. “The Prime Minister does not feel that he has a duty to explain why he revoked a minister when we know that revocation is the harshest sanction against a government member. Even the MSM party’s secretary-general does not know what really happened,” he added.
He affirmed that Vikram Hurdoyal’s situation should in no way divert attention from the real issues at hand. “The Hurdoyal affair cannot be a diversion. It is clear that the MSM has weakened,” he asserted. He recalled that he had left the MSM when the party had serious internal functioning problems. “I said that it is a power struggle. I ask my MSM comrades to open their eyes and see how the party is functioning. There is no role. It is Lakwizinn who is making the decisions,” he emphasized.
For his part, the deputy leader of Linion Moris, Rama Valayden, maintained that the basic principles of the formation of this political party are to say no to corruption and fraud.
He believes that the revocation of former Minister Hurdoyal is related to the monkey business and the lease of land permit. “The revocation of Hurdoyal is for us a corruption at its core. It is a deep transaction. In the case of the revocation, Lakwizinn has a role to play. We are fighting to stop this Monkey Business where we are talking about billions today,” he said.
Based on the information he claims to have, Rama Valayden explained that Vikram Hurdoyal allegedly refused to grant a piece of land to a businessman in the monkey export sector. “We are saying that Hurdoyal was revoked because he did not give land for a monkey business and the first thing that Minister Seeruttun did was to sign to give a particular land to send back the business to the battleground,” he alleged.
