Accessing or leaving the village of Boulingrin, especially if one wants to reach Montagne-Longue, is not easy. The residents of the area have been informing the authorities about this access difficulty for quite some time now.
In this context, the National Development Unit and the Road Development Authority have held new consultations after becoming aware of the situation of the village residents. Their observation: in addition to not being lit, the existing access road is in poor condition and deteriorates during heavy rain episodes. This problem worsens with the accumulation of water and mud, making the already narrow road risky. Moreover, not only vehicles use this access road, as it is also utilized by pedestrians.
To address the difficulties faced by the residents of the area, discussions have been initiated with officials from the supervising ministry as well as relevant stakeholders. Some short-term measures have been identified, starting with the rehabilitation and improvement of the existing access road. Additionally, the road will be equipped with adequate lighting.
Traffic lights will also be installed to allow vehicles to circulate safely. Finally, appropriate flood mitigation measures are being considered to prevent water and mud from stagnating on the road.
