Shakeel Mohamed was very misguided for his first Private Notice Question (PNQ), according to Bobby Hurreeram. The minister spoke at a press conference following the PNQ from the newly appointed leader of the opposition, Shakeel Mohamed.

“The last thing we need is for someone to use the Prime Minister’s question time for political mischief on Law and Order,” Minister Hurreeram said.

It’s a shame for a first PNQ to “serve the wrong people to play politics in the wrong way,” added the Minister of Public Infrastructure. Bobby Hurreeram believes that Shakeel Mohamed’s question could have been approached from a different angle.

The minister took the opportunity to criticize Paul Bérenger’s behavior, stating that he must now “defend the interest of Navin Ramgoolam.”

Commenting on the altercation between the Speaker and MMM deputies, Paul Bérenger and Rajesh Bhagwan, Bobby Hurreeram said that the Speaker “rightly” had to remind them of the rules.

For his first PNQ, the leader of the opposition, Shakeel Mohamed, focused on the effectiveness of the police, law enforcement, and security in Mauritius this morning.

Shakeel Mohamed succeeds Xavier-Luc Duval, who resigned from his position yesterday following a rupture with the PTR/MMM alliance.
