The Cabinet has taken note that the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, Science, and Technology will implement a Google Classroom as a platform for online teaching in secondary schools to enhance the experience and practice in this field.

Google Classroom will be available from the second quarter of the academic year 2024. A comprehensive information session for principals will be organized, and clear protocols and guidelines will be established.

Training sessions are also planned for teachers to ensure optimal use of Google Classroom. Google accounts will be created for students and their parents, improving communication and bridging the gap between home and school.

The Mauritius Institute of Education will oversee the entire exercise.
