Eleanor has intensified again and continues to dangerously approach Mauritius at a speed of 20 km/h.
The strong tropical storm poses a direct danger to the country, as reported in the eighth bulletin from the Vacoas meteorological station.
It is generating gusts of up to 125 km/h and winds blowing up to 100 km/h around 50 km from its center.
At 04:10 this morning, the strong tropical storm was located around 200 km northeast of the country and is moving in a south-southwesterly direction at a speed of 20 km/h.
Eleanor is expected to pass closest to the eastern part of Mauritius this afternoon.
Starting this morning, showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected, causing flooding in several areas.
The waves are expected to be between 6 to 8 meters high.
