Newly sworn-in Masaka City Woman Member of Parliament, Justine Nameere, was arrested on Friday evening by plain-clothed operatives, sparking chaos and leaving multiple supporters injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30pm along Circular Road as Nameere was concluding a celebratory drive through Masaka City. Ms Nameere, who had earlier been sworn into office in Kampala, was traveling in a convoy toward Liberation Square when a white Toyota Hiace—popularly known as a “drone”—with covered license plates blocked her path.
