Uganda’s manufacturing sector contributes about 16.5 percent to the country’s economy, Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has said, highlighting the sector’s growing role in job creation, taxation and economic development.
Speaking at the launch of the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair on Wednesday, Ms Barbara Mulwana, a member of the UMA Advisory Council and ED Nice House of Plastics, said manufacturing goes beyond production by supporting value chains in agriculture, transport, finance, energy and technology.
