Kita, March 25 (AMAP) The activities of the 2024 World Water Day were chaired, on Friday, at the SOS Children’s Village primary school in Kita, by the Regional Governor’s Advisor for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Mamadou Seydou Diarra, observed AMAP.

It was attended by representatives of the administration, local elected officials, civil society organizations, educators, students, and wider water stakeholders.

March 22nd of each year is dedicated to World Water Day to draw attention to the importance of water for users and to promote sustainable water resource management. That is why the regional hydraulic directorate of Kita, in collaboration with the Action Against Hunger (ACF) project, celebrated this day in the peanut capital.

For the Regional Director of Hydraulic in Kita, Hamidou Djiga, this World Water Day is celebrated in Kita at a time when efforts are being made by the authorities to provide the population with safe drinking water. It aims for regional stakeholders to assess the achievements and prospects for more clean water for the people of the peanut capital.

This World Water Day aims to highlight the benefits of water management as a peace-building tool, by presenting effective mechanisms and tools to strengthen cooperation and prevent water-related conflicts.

Conferences, debates on the theme “Water for Peace,” sketches, and messages on the situation of drinking water supply at the SOS primary school in Kita marked World Water Day.
