Bla, March 26 (AMAP) The prefect of the circle of Bla, Mrs. Fanta Samaké, presided on Monday, March 25, 2024, over the opening of a workshop for the training of school actors of the San Teaching Academy on the management of the school in decentralized mode and taking into account the gender dimension within the framework of quality and inclusive education organized by the SCOFI Project, as observed by AMAP.
The event was attended by the Director of the San Teaching Academy, the sub-prefects of the Bla and Yangasso districts, the mayors of the project interventions municipalities, the SCOFI advisors of Bla and Yangasso CAPs, the presidents of the School Management Committees, the presidents of the Mothers’ Associations, the administrative staff of the public high school and the Bla Vocational Training Institute (IFP).
The general objective of this two-day training session is to appropriate the contents of the legal and institutional texts of the school in a decentralized mode.
As for the specific objectives, it is about establishing the link between legal and institutional foundation in decentralized mode; listing the legal and institutional supports of the school in decentralized mode; explain the legal and institutional foundations of the school in decentralized mode.
At the opening of the workshop, the 2nd deputy mayor of the Bla Commune, representing the mayor, greeted all the actors involved for choosing Bla to host this important meeting.
For the prefect of the Bla Circle, Mrs. Fanta SAMAKE, this framework, which is an opportunity to come together around certain concerns of the school, comes in a context marked by, among other things, the security crisis, with consequences such as budgetary constraints at the state and local levels, the decrease in household incomes, the mass displacement of populations, etc.; an insufficient coordination among all school actors for a better protection of children’s rights in general and girls in particular in the context of crisis.
To support the idea of the SCOFI NGO for organizing this think tank, the prefect recalled the education section of the monitoring-evaluation report of the indicators of the national decentralization policy framework document (DCPND) of the Bla Circle, which gives a figure of 61.82% as the gross enrollment rate for a target value of 99.98%.
The same source reveals that the enrollment rate of girls in the first cycle of basic education is 56% for a target value of 70.5%. These data require more efforts and show the need for a synergy of action from all actors to achieve a profound change in the education system.
According to the regional coordinator of the project, Yacouba TOGOLA, the SCOFI project operates in 90 schools of the Teaching Academies of Ségou and San, specifically in the CAPs of Ségou, Barouéli, and Sanando AE of Ségou; CAPs of Bla and Yangasso in the San academy.
