Makerere University’s iconic main building, the Ivory Tower, which was reduced to ashes in a 2022-devastating fire, is ready to rise once more.Â
The building is slated for commissioning around Uganda’s Independence Day, Monitor has learnt.
Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, the vice chancellor of Makerere University, shared his excitement over the replication of the historic building. However, he noted that not all previous occupants would return to the structure.Â
