| La population en liesse devant les travaux réalisés qui répondent à leurs besoins. |
Two neighborhoods of Antsiranana urban community now have their offices. These infrastructures meet the needs of the population in their daily lives.
The dream has come true for two fokontany that have been deprived of an office for thirty years. To obtain a residence certificate and other administrative documents, it was necessary to go to the homes of the fokontany chiefs. During the inauguration ceremony of these new buildings, they all recounted the difficulties they endured during these years. Whenever they changed residence, the inhabitants struggled to find their house when needed. And their family life was often disturbed because there were times when citizens knocked on their door at inopportune hours.
A marathon day for local political-administrative personalities who attended the inauguration of these achievements, especially initiated by the Vice President of the National Assembly, Jocelyne Rahelihanta, who used the Investment Credit budget intended for development support. Everything started in the district office of Antsiranana-II where the fokontany office of Tanambao-nord is located, equipped with two rooms and a toilet with the district chief’s agreement. The building is well secured as it is located near the central police station in Antsiranana, in front of the House of Youth, and close to the municipal stadium.

Requests
The second ceremony was held in the populous neighborhood of Tanambao-V, where a four-room toilet block for men and women was handed over. The completion of this infrastructure was the result of a request from local laundry workers to the deputy Jocelyne Maxime, as their neighborhood was previously without public toilets and standard toilets. This facilitated the spread of dirt everywhere.
“Health is expensive, and we all know that cleanliness guarantees health. People cannot participate in development projects if they are not healthy,” said the donor.
Everything ended in the Ambalakazaha neighborhood where a two-room building serving as a fokontany office was inaugurated. The neighborhood was created in 1994, but since then, the local office has disappeared. The fokontany chief’s residence was then used to meet the needs of the residents.
The locals showed their joy at the completion of the work. And the atmosphere was there. The occasion allowed them to address directly the governor Taciano Rakotomanga, present at the ceremony, and request the construction of a street connecting the market and the newly built office. The director of Financial Affairs of the governorate, Emile Claude Sylvain, took the opportunity to offer a flat-screen TV and a subscription to Canal+ to decorate the new office and spoil the local population.
