The famous young French stand-up comedian, Rodrigue, will perform in Madagascar.

The famous French stand-up comedian, Rodrigue, will step on the Malagasy stage for the first time at MBC Ivato on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 3 pm. Organized by Ethnika Event, this event marks a turning point in the country’s cultural landscape by combining international and local talent through stand-up comedy. “Bringing together international and local talent. This is the ambition of Ethnika Event in bringing stand-up comedy to Madagascar. It is a cultural sector that is not yet well-established in Madagascar compared to other forms of performances. However, it is currently trending, especially in Europe and America,” explains the coordinator at Ethnika Event.

Stand-up comedy, a form of artistic expression that celebrates humor and spontaneity, is still relatively unexplored in the country. The Malagasy audience will discover a new comedic universe, pulsating with the vivacity and creativity of French humor.

Rodrigue, the headliner of this event, is not a stranger. Winner of the Paris Humor Festival Prize in 2022, this 29-year-old comedian and singer has become one of the rising stars of French stand-up comedy.

“His humor is accessible to everyone as he narrates his life, from school to adulthood, especially in the professional world, or his daily experiences with his mother. He tells, among other things, how he found fulfillment in his new life thanks to his failures, with hilarious aspects. For example, he recounts his work at the Bank, in asset management, which was not fulfilling enough to the point of making a career change, to turn what he loves into a profession,” explains the organizer. Ethnika Event aims high and focuses on quality, by organizing this production of Rodrigue in Madagascar. The organizer also aims to enrich the Malagasy cultural scene by offering a unique stand-up experience.
