The 7th edition of the Rallye Moi(s) Théâtre event, organized by the Miangaly Théâtre Company, will take place from March 1st to 8th. This year, the festivities will be held in various locations.
March, the month of theater. Every year, the Miangaly Théâtre Company (CMT) enchants theater enthusiasts in Antananarivo with its flagship event, the Rallye Moi(s) Théâtre (RMT). From March 1st to 8th, the seventh edition of this captivating event takes on a poignant theme: “Women and children first.” Through schools and cultural centers such as EPP Ambohimanga, SMAK Ambohimangakely, a private school in Anosibe, Vontovorona, CGM Analakely, and KoloMahaOlona Ampitatafika, theater comes to life to raise awareness and celebrate the lives of women and children. It is a week of cultural immersion where workshops, readings, and contemporary plays harmoniously blend with music and songs.
Yesterday, rehearsals were vibrant at KoloMahaOlona Ampitatafika with two tales: “The child and the night drum”, written by Jean Luc Raharimanana and performed by Fela Razafiarison and Tina Rakotondrasoa, as well as “Ravinala”, a poetic odyssey about the iconic plant of Madagascar, performed by Nathalie Rason and Tina Rakotondrasoa. “We are in full rehearsal. We have prepared seven theatrical presentations for these eight days, but improvisation on stage remains at the heart of each show, a tradition that we cherish since six editions,” says Hoby Rajoelison, general director of RMT. Passion
This year, the event highlights children and women, an initiative that resonates particularly as March 8th coincides with International Women’s Day. The CMT also offers special programs for children, with three series of captivating tales like “The child and the night drum”, “Arira Arira”, and “Ravinala”. “The RMT is much more than just a festival. It is an invitation to discover theatrical art, to celebrate the richness of local artistic and cultural heritage, and to expand the audience’s horizon towards contemporary theater,” explains Fela Razafiarison, head of the CMT. This year, only the fifteen members of the CMT will share their passion with the general public. Despite the absence of international guests, the spirit of contemporary theater still shines brightly with the talent of the CMT. With 37 years of existence, the CMT continues to explore new horizons, to promote theater accessible to all and in a contemporary way. At the heart of this theatrical adventure lies an unwavering commitment to research, experimentation, professionalization, and writing. Nicole Rafalimananjara
