During two days, Christine Razanamahasoa, president of the National Assembly, was visiting France to attend the summit of assembly presidents. On Wednesday and Thursday, the deputy from Ambatofinandrahana attended forums and debates on the role of women in politics. Twenty-four assembly presidents are present at this summit, and the president of the Malagasy Lower House was received with the twenty-three others at the Elysée Palace by French President Emmanuel Macron. She was also invited to attend the ceremony sealing the law approving voluntary termination of pregnancy.

It should be noted that France is the first country in the world to have adopted this law. As for Madagascar, the idea of such a law has already been discussed in Tsimbazaza but has not gained many supporters.

During the two days of the summit, the twenty-four assembly presidents participate in two roundtable discussions. The first focusing on gender-based violence, health, and equal rights. The second concerning balance and gender parity in the world of work, especially in politics, as well as inspiring female personalities. It is worth noting that the summit of assembly presidents aims to strengthen international efforts to promote women’s rights, highlighting the role of national parliaments and their presidents.
