Yesterday, in Antsahamanitra, to celebrate its 5th anniversary, the Reko Band offered a grand show by inviting Mirado and Bolo on stage.
The Reko Band group, consisting of Fy Rasolofoniaina, Zazah Maminiaivo, Princia Razakamahefa, and Diary Razafimamonjiraibe, celebrated its fifth anniversary on stage with the public of Antananarivo, yesterday at Antsahamanitra. The vibrant atmosphere was initiated by guest artist Mirado, who performed some of his hits, including “Tiako raha mba ianao,” for about twenty minutes. The audience, already immersed in this ambiance, eagerly awaited the long-awaited arrival of the Reko group, sharing the same passion for rock-folklore.
Zazah set the tone by taking her place behind the drums, followed by guitarists Diary and Princia, and Fy Rasolofoniaina. The reception given to the group was warm, like a magnet attracting its audience. In return, Reko rewarded its fans with the welcoming title “Tongasoa,” projected on the giant screen behind the stage with the lyrics, allowing the audience to immerse themselves not only in Fy’s enchanting voice but also in the lyrics of his own songs. Fy Rasolofoniaina’s group energized the crowd by dedicating their first pieces to evangelical themes, then fulfilled expectations with romantic ballads such as “Tiako ianao” and “Hafa mihitsy,” concluding the first part with a duet with Mirado on the flagship song of the Reko group, “One Thing” from their latest album “Misia.”
Five years. Goodies from the Reko Band were offered on site, as well as book donations to support the group’s “Reko Book” concept, which aims to provide books to children at each stage of their tour, such as in Mahajanga, Toamasina, and Antananarivo.
The second part of the show started with Bolo, who enchanted the audience with his songs “Ravitoto” and “Mihinana composed,” among others. The Reko group then took the stage to perform other songs before ending beautifully with a duet with Bolo on the Reko group’s song “Io aho io.” From 5:30 PM, Ivenco’s lighting effects illuminated the second part of the emotion-packed show, filled with love and testimonials between the audience and the group.
“After this show, the group will focus on its European tour in June, to share these five years of music with all Malagasy people, even abroad,” said Fitia Randriamifidimanana of Studio 58, the event organizer. After Europe, the group will head to Mahajanga to continue its tour.
