Victim of a terrible accident on the Tsarasaotra bypass towards Ivato, a 31-year-old man, in a Volkswagen Golf, died, according to the National Police.
For the umpteenth time, the Tsarasaotra-Ivato bypass was the scene of a spectacular, extremely violent accident. On Friday, just before 9 p.m., near the Ambodifasina diversion, a shiny Volkswagen Golf ended its frenzied race against a Jirama concrete pole. Among its two occupants, the 31-year-old did not survive, according to the information received by the police responsible for the report.
No further details were immediately released to clarify whether the deceased person was the driver or the passenger sitting next to him. The other, alive, was seriously injured. The police attribute the cause of this dramatic road exit to speeding followed by a loss of control. According to them, the Golf was heading north.
“We were there when it violently hit the pole. It was heading to Ivato,” recalls an eyewitness.

The same witness continues: “There were two men on board. The passenger was severely injured in the head. He lost consciousness. He was extricated first. Their friends who also arrived by car immediately picked him up and took him to the hospital.”
The driver, protected by the airbag, was sandwiched in his curled-up seat and his foot stuck to the pole. In fact, the front of the Golf was completely reduced to a shredded wreck. The engine was thrown out of the hood. The Jirama pole collapsed on the roof of the vehicle.
