Tsiriniaina Hajatiana Irimboangy has been declared the winner of the eighth edition of the Paritana Prize for his project “Ridô – revealing memories,” yesterday at the IFM.
Last night, at the IFM Analakely, the eagerly awaited winners of the 8th edition of the Paritana Prize were revealed, highlighting the emerging artistic genius of the country.
Artist, designer, and researcher, the winner Tsiriniaina Hajatiana Irimboangy stands out at the top of this list, captivating the jury composed of Bénédicte Alliot, Hermerson Andrianetrazafy, Astrid Dalais, Eric Hiridjee, François Maugrenier, Céline Seror with his striking project “Ridô – revealing memories.” His project stood out for its depth and innovation, offering an unprecedented emotional exploration. “Currently in Paris, Tsiriniaina Hajatiana Irimboangy will join the team in Paris for the residency which will take place in October, before returning to Madagascar in January 2025 to present his exhibition. Recognized as an artist, designer, and researcher, his artistic approach explores the multiple possibilities offered by digital media, creating new forms and images that awaken the senses while stimulating reflection,” says Jade Andrianjaka, communication manager at the Foundation H.
Regarding the winner’s project, “Ridô – reveal memories,” it takes shape through a series of multimedia artistic installations. This work combines detailed textual descriptions of his memories, digital images generated by artificial intelligence, as well as a video accompanied by a sound testimony. It is a profound artistic exploration of his memories, a captivating attempt to capture and share them with the public.
Support
Receiving a creation grant of 14,325,461 ariary as well as a residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris for three months, Tsiriniaina Hajatiana Irimboangy will also benefit from all the support necessary for this residency. Furthermore, a long-awaited personal exhibition in the Parisian space of the Foundation H in December will be a highlight of his reward, before an exhibition at the IFM in April 2025. As co-vice winners, the photographer and videomaker Andy Rasoloharivony for his project “And they carved the sand” and the visual artist Finoana Ratovo Andriantseheno for her project “Invitation to time” were also honored.
Each of them will receive a creation grant of 2,387,576 ariary and will benefit from the support of the Foundation H team for the development of their exhibition projects. These two promising talents will also have the opportunity to exhibit their works at the Foundation H in Ambatomena in November and December 2024.
