Yesterday, in the municipality of Ambohimangakely, the pasta manufacturing machine was inaugurated by Minister Edgard Razafindravahy as part of the One District, One Factory project.

The One District, One Factory project is now reaching municipalities. Yesterday, a pasta factory was established in Ambohimangakely. This marks the first industrial unit of the One District, One Factory project to be set up in Avaradrano. The facility will allow rice producers in the region to transform their products into pasta. Minister Edgard Razafindravahy, responsible for Industrialization and Commerce, handed over the machine to local authorities yesterday. He emphasized that the ODOF project aims to bring industrial development closer to the people. The vision of President Andry Rajoelina is to establish an industrial unit in each constituency, ensuring that no district is left behind. The State will ensure that no municipality is neglected in the quest to build the foundations of industrial development.

The new unit is strategically located in Avaradrano, a region known for its rice production with a large number of operators. It is capable of producing up to four tons of pasta per day.

The impact of this unit goes beyond pasta production. It also encourages the local population to increase their agricultural production, as the basic ingredients needed for pasta-making, including eggs, will be supplied by local producers. Natacha Ralalarisoa, a poultry farmer in Ambohimangakely and member of a local association, emphasized the importance of this unit for the community, stating that it eliminates the constant challenge of finding markets for their products.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to establish seventy-five industrial units in as many districts in Madagascar.
