The signing of the convention concerning the enhancement project of Pic Saint-Louis took place the day before yesterday at Ivokolo Analakely. A historic moment occurred the night before last, sealing the partnership agreement between the Ministry of Communication and Culture, the Integrated Growth Pole (PIC), and the Governor of Anôsy at Ivokolo Analakely. At the heart of this agreement lies the long-awaited enhancement of Pic Saint-Louis de Tolagnaro, a national icon deserving to be revealed to the world.

The plans are ambitious and visionary. The construction of a welcome center at the entrance of the site, the establishment of three secure circuits like Ariadne’s threads guiding visitors, the arrangement of strategic resting points, and even the creation of an observatory at the summit will offer an enriched experience to adventurers and tourists in search of authenticity. For Ladislas Andrie Rakotondrazaka, national director of the Pic project, this initiative is more than just a simple enhancement. It embodies the close relationship between culture and tourism, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting national identity to attract visitors from around the world.

Historical value
“This great mountain has a history and historical value, as a sacred place, but now it becomes accessible to everyone. This highlights the possibility for everyone to enjoy the magnificent view offered from the heights overlooking the city of Tolagnaro and the sea,” emphasizes Minister Augustin Andriamananoro.

Thanks to generous funding from the World Bank, this large-scale project, valued at 2,456,847,587 ariary, will allow Pic Saint-Louis de Tolagnaro to regain its former splendor while aligning with a sustainable and equitable development approach. So, as the calls for tenders are about to be launched, excitement is at its peak. At the summit of this majestic mountain, towering 515 meters above the city of Tolagnaro, lies an unsuspected wealth of cultural and historical significance.
