The CEO of Orange Madagascar and his collaborator, visiting Mahajanga
Optimizing the coverage of the mobile phone company Orange Madagascar is one of the goals of the visit of the CEO Frédéric Debord to Mahajanga. This is to offer them tailored offers, enriched with educational content, and to support training in digital and e-commerce skills. It will also develop its Orange Money offers to allow the population to access essential financial services, and for students and young entrepreneurs to create innovative e-commerce services. The Governor of the Boeny region, Mokhtar Andriatomanga, on his part, requested collaboration for revenue collectors in rural areas. “The Boeny region has forty-six municipalities spread across six districts. Some of them are still not covered by Orange services. This situation hampers the dynamism of investors. A solution to facilitate reimbursement of operators, especially in rural areas, via mobile money transfer, would be ideal. The goal is to save time and prevent collectors from not collecting any money. On the other hand, digital education should be implemented in primary schools so that young children can be guided from now on in the right way to manage the internet,” proposes the governor. The company has three digital schools in Mahajanga, in cooperation with the regional Directorate of National Education through the project of tablets distributed to public primary schools. “A technical solution will be considered for payment via Orange Money in rural areas.
