Four in the morning

In the tourist village, small food vendors arrived at the site as early as 4 am. Others had been sleeping there since night. “We arrived very early to reserve places for our small business. We joined the place sheltered under the marina bridge to protect ourselves from the scorching sun. We prepared vegetable salads, cassava fritters, grilled food, and coffee. There are many strollers in the tourist village because a category of nearby residents cannot afford to go to the small beach in Amborovy. Easter Monday is another opportunity for us to make money. We made some profits, but this year was not profitable,” explained a street vendor.

In the early morning, young men and women with wooden sticks, tents, and umbrellas arrived at the tourist village beach at 5:30 am. They were eager to set up their equipment to protect themselves from the sun.

Furthermore, those who chose to go to the Grand Pavois and the small beach in Amborovy by bus left the city as early as 4 am. Lines formed in front of bus stops in Aranta as early as 3 am. Tricycles or bajajs also started operating from 2 am to transport strollers.
