Avonelina Ramidison, a member of the Malagasy Fampihavanana Council of the Amoron’i Mania region and former retired chief civil administrator, was found dead.
The family, former students, authorities, and the entire Amoron’i Mania region mourn the passing of Avonelina Ramidison. This 80-year-old teacher and chief civil administrator of exceptional class was discovered dead on Sunday morning at the foot of a cliff in Tanimalalaka/Imaintso, a bushy area belonging to the Tsimiariloha village, in the commune of Tsarasaotra and in the Ambositra district.
The prominent figure, widely known, a member of the Malagasy Fampihavanana Council, taught at the National Institute of Administrative Training, the National School of Administration of Madagascar in Androhibe, and in other institutes. He led various thematic conferences related to culture and craftsmanship and held various high-level positions in the country.
“Unfortunately, I received a phone call early in the morning. The person told me: I found your number in this gentleman’s directory, I must inform you that he is deceased, he is in the commune of Tsarasaotra,” said the Minister of Population and Solidarity, Haingo Elisette Fomendraza. She then sent the regional director of her ministry to see and bring back the body of the deceased to Ambositra.
Investigation
Information circulated yesterday on social networks that the administrator was murdered. The gendarmerie contradicts this version. Having been on site for the observation, they indicated that the death occurred as a result of a fall, that the victim fell from the cliff and that traces of injury were found on his forehead and nose.
The gendarmes recovered his phone, his silver jewelry, his national identity card, his money (thirty-one thousand ariary), rum in a plastic bottle, and his flashlight. All these items were entrusted to the same regional director.
The lifeless body was first transported to the mortuary of the Regional Reference Hospital in Ambositra. His grieving family then took him away. The local brigade, supported by the Judicial Police Support Group, has opened an investigation.
