This digital x-ray device helps patients with bronchiolitis.

Between ten and fifteen children suffering from bronchiolitis are hospitalized every day at the Mother and Child Hospital Center in Ambohimiandra. The facility is able to accommodate all these patients.

Three children with this condition require an x-ray. The rate of this chronic disease has decreased compared to previous cases. In order to assist patients at this hospital, the imaging building has been rehabilitated. On this occasion, an inauguration ceremony took place yesterday in Ambohimiandra, with the installation of a digital x-ray device in the room.

According to the hospital director, “previously, the center did not have this type of medical equipment, which made it difficult to perform x-rays for patients. Children with bronchiolitis greatly need these new care supplies. The installation of this medical device facilitates their treatment and healing process.” Thanks to these new equipment, patients will receive better healthcare.

This rehabilitation and equipment are the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health and a private company. “The ‘Live and Give’ project is an initiative aimed at supporting a major area such as health. To this end, Somadis company rehabilitated the imaging building in Ambohimiandra, so that residents in the vicinity and patients of this hospital can benefit from this digital x-ray device,” emphasized the marketing manager of Somadis, Andy Rajoelina.

Decrease

The hospital’s equipment with new medical supplies helps patients and their families in treating illnesses. According to the general director of healthcare supplies, Dr. Rija Ramarolahy, “this digital x-ray device minimizes the travel of sick children to the maximum.”

The rate of bronchiolitis has decreased and could further decrease thanks to these new medical equipment. This disease is the most treated one within the University Hospital Center.
