Hunted in sensitive areas of the city, bandits have recently been targeting quieter neighborhoods like Tsarakofafa. Numbering more than a dozen, armed bandits attacked a home in Tsarakofafa. Overpowered by the assailants, the targeted individuals were helpless.

A wave of terror struck Tsarakofafa, Toamasina, the day before yesterday in the early hours. Around 2 o’clock in the morning, a pack of bandits numbering more than a dozen stormed a home. Helpless against the armed wrongdoers, the targeted individuals could do nothing. Right in front of them, the criminals ransacked the house and seized money and valuables within reach. According to reports, the thieves made off with a Cignus Phase II motorcycle, a flat-screen TV, and other items. Ransacking the house, they then made off with a sum amounting to two million ariary. Armed with their loot, the bandits subsequently left the scene. Outnumbered and ready for confrontation, they disappeared into the darkness without being pursued, then vanished into thin air.

Violence

The victims report that eight bandits burst into their home by breaking a door. Outside, other members of the gang lurked in the dark, keeping watch. Held at gunpoint, the individuals inside the attacked house could not raise the alarm. They had to wait for the assailants to leave before they could attempt anything.

The bandits entered the courtyard by forcing the gate. The flimsy cane fence could not hold them back. Once inside the property, they set to work on tearing down the door with the tools they had brought. Meanwhile, other members of the gang were already deployed throughout the surrounding area.

Yesterday, the family that fell victim to the crime issued a call for denunciation. In this moment of distress, they seek the collaboration of anyone who may have information about the stolen items to contact them.
