Lutale named in Dr Besigye treason trial

Mr Obeid Lutale, the political aide to Dr Kizza Besigye, has for the first time been named in the former presidential candidate’s ongoing treason trial, with the key prosecution witness telling court that Dr Besigye had described him as his “second in command”.

Mr Andrew Wilson, alias Orlando, told the High Court in Kampala yesterday that he first saw Mr Lutale during the November 16, 2024 meeting in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, and had not seen him at the previous four meetings held in Athens, Greece, and Geneva, Switzerland.
