Libya: Detention of an employee at the Tarhouna Civil Registry Office after his involvement in forging family entries resulting in 11 foreigners obtaining national identification numbers

Tripoli – The Public Prosecution ordered the provisional detention of an employee. He worked at the Civil Registry Office in Tarhouna. Investigations confirmed he forged family records. This allowed 11 foreigners to obtain national identification numbers. The Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement. It said a committee is investigating forged civil status data.
