Under new management, the National Port Authority is committed to implementing President Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s ARREST Agenda. The NPA recently announced that seven employees have been charged for collusion and facilitation of the unauthorized exit of three trucks loaded with rice from the Freeport of Monrovia.

The incident took place on March 6, 2024, when the trucks exited the port through the Bravo gate at 3:22 A.M. The NPA held a press conference at its national headquarters on Bushrod Island to address the issue and emphasize their commitment to upholding the President’s agenda.

The suspects charged in this case include Robert Yeah, Shift Commander; Charles Weah, Deputy Commander; Ezekiel Kollie, Duty Officer; Zwannah Haines, Duty Officer; George Boakai, Gate Commander; Michael Johnson, Gate Drop Officer; and Abraham Z. Tulue, Recording Officer. These individuals were allegedly involved in allowing the trucks to leave the port without proper authorization.

Following an investigation launched by the NPA’s investigation section, it was found that the officers stationed at the Alpha gate failed to perform their duties adequately, allowing the vehicles to access the port area without proper logging procedures. Duty Officers Zwannah Haines and Ezekiel Kollie, stationed at the Bravo Gate, colluded with Shift Commander Robert Yeah and Deputy Commander Charles Weah, without the knowledge of Senior Duty Officer Major Mark Walker and another individual identified as Douda.

The trucks involved in the unauthorized exit bear the license plates C-41018, H03612, and C-4342, and are operated by individuals from New Georgia, Jacob Town, and Logan Town. As a result of the investigation, Robert Teah, Charles Weah, Zwannah Haines, and Ezekiel Kollie have been charged with criminal conspiracy and criminal facilitation, while George Boakai, Michael Johnson, and Abraham Julue face charges of negligence of duty for failing to prevent the unauthorized entry of trucks into the port premises.

The NPA is taking strong action against those involved in the incident to ensure accountability and prevent similar occurrences in the future. By adhering to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s ARREST Agenda, the NPA is demonstrating its commitment to good governance and transparency in its operations.
