The President of the Youth of Churches United for Christ and the Mission Director of the Greater Outreach Ministries, George Flomo, has highlighted the unfortunate situations of disasters that have occurred in Liberia since the inception of the Unity Party-led Government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. These disasters have resulted in the deaths of many Liberians.
One such incident was when the National Elections Commission declared President Joesph Boakai of the Unity Party as the winner of the November 14 run-off presidential election. During the celebration, a moving vehicle ran into jubilant supporters and partisans of the Unity Party on Broad Street in Monrovia, resulting in several deaths.
In an exclusive interview in Paynesville, George Flomo revealed that several Liberians also lost their lives in Totota, Bong County, due to a tanker explosion. Additionally, a family of five perished in a fire disaster on Du-Port without being rescued. There were also reports of Liberians in Grand Cape Mount County who were protesting and were allegedly killed by officers of the Liberian National Police.
Further tragic incidents included the death of a resident of Calwell, Joecephus S. Tukpeh, who was allegedly beaten to death by the Liberia Electricity Corporation Power theft team. The power theft team accused Tukpeh of stealing electricity, leading to a conflict that resulted in his untimely death.
George Flomo emphasized the need for God’s intervention in these tragic events, stating that only divine intervention could save Liberia. He called for President Joesph Boakai to declare a three-day prayer for God to rescue the country from these tragedies. Flomo stressed that focusing on God for guidance and direction is essential for President Boakai to fulfill his vision of rescuing the country.
It is evident that Liberia has been plagued by various disasters and incidents resulting in the loss of many lives. The call for divine intervention and prayer is a plea for hope and healing in the face of these tragedies. George Flomo’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of faith and spiritual guidance in times of crisis. Only through unity, prayer, and reliance on a higher power can Liberia overcome these challenges and move towards a brighter future.
