Monrovia-February-21-TNR: The Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia’s Commander-In-Chief, Emmanuel Gonquoi, has declined his nomination by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Sr.
CIC Gonquoi stated that the EFFL is a party of conscious, respect, and the rule of law. The party’s agenda is not driven by distrust, and as a result, Gonquoi has chosen to decline the nomination by President Boakai.
In a surprising turn of events, the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia announced a temporary suspension of appointment acceptance in their WhatsApp group, citing perceived disrespect from certain quarters in response to Gonquoi’s nomination. The EFFL CIC clarified that they are not desperate job seekers and expressed their willingness to serve the government if requested by President Boakai.
“Fighters! We are not accepting appointments until further notice. No need to celebrate. We are EFFL and a political party. We need some respect. We are not desperate job seekers,” Gonquoi stated in a WhatsApp conversation.
Gonquoi also raised concerns about individuals in the President’s office allegedly working against the government’s interests, which he believes could lead to the downfall and failure of the UP government. He expressed his willingness to serve the government if requested by President Boakai but emphasized that his party demands respect and will not tolerate disrespect from certain individuals in the President’s office.
He wants President Boakai to succeed and do well for the people of Liberia and has pledged to ensure that the requisite measures are put into place to support the government. However, he stressed that his party has good intentions for the government and people of Liberia but described some individuals in the President’s circle as disrespectful, which is unacceptable to the EFFL.
Commander-in-Chief Emmanuel Gonquoi was recently appointed as Deputy Minister for Planning and Manpower at the Ministry of Labor by President Boakai. But he emphasized his party’s dedication to the betterment of the people and the country, urging for respect in their pursuit of contributing to President Boakai’s success.
Overall, the EFFL’s decision to decline the nomination and temporarily suspend appointment acceptance reflects their commitment to their principles and the importance of respect in their interactions with the government and President Boakai. Despite the temporary suspension, they remain open to the possibility of serving the government if requested, emphasizing their dedication to the betterment of Liberia and its people.
