The disunity within the Bong County Legislative Caucus has escalated to the extent that a member of the caucus has felt compelled to resign due to the presence of Senator Prince K. Moye. The member stated, “I can no longer stand by and witness the manipulation and underhanded tactics employed by Senator Prince Moye.” This declaration highlights the toxic environment created within the Legislative Caucus by Senator Moye’s actions, making it untenable for the resigning member to remain associated with him.

The Bong County lawmaker attributed much of the disunity and stagnation in the county to Senator Moye, whom he believes is apprehensive about potential competition from Cole in the upcoming 2029 Senatorial elections. The lawmaker asserted that Senator Moye was responsible for instigating the recent protests in the county calling for the college president’s resignation. He accused Senator Moye of sabotaging development initiatives in the county and pitting citizens against county authorities.

Additionally, the lawmaker recounted an incident where Senator Moye allegedly influenced a health worker to disrespect him, further illustrating the Senator’s divisive tactics. Senator Moye’s purported backing of the same health worker for the Deputy Minister for Administration position against the President’s wishes added fuel to the lawmaker’s grievances. Furthermore, the lawmaker criticized Senator Moye for prioritizing irrelevant matters over implementing the findings of a USD 7 million audit report from his tenure in previous governments.

The discord within the Bong County Legislative Caucus underscores a broader issue of internal strife and political maneuvering that can hinder progress and development within the region. With personal agendas, power struggles, and conflicting interests at play, the focus on serving the constituents and advancing the county’s interests may become secondary to personal ambitions and rivalries.

The resignation of the caucus member sheds light on the challenges and complexities of navigating a political landscape rife with discord and opportunism. It signals a need for greater collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the Legislative Caucus to effectively address the needs and aspirations of the Bong County residents.

Moving forward, it is imperative for all members of the Bong County Legislative Caucus to prioritize unity, integrity, and the common good over personal interests and divisive tactics. By fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared purpose, the Caucus can work towards creating a more cohesive and effective legislative body that serves the best interests of the people of Bong County.
