BOMI COUNTY, April 30, 2026 – The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) has dedicated the Maher Memorial in Bomi County to honor more than 150 civilians killed at the Maher River Bridge during Liberia’s second civil war, while renewing calls for justice and accountability.
The memorial, funded by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance, commemorates victims of the July 18, 2002, massacre along the Tubmanburg-Monrovia highway.
